Pharmacist – Specialty

About the role

The Specialty Pharmacy team at MD Anderson provides integrated, patient‑centered care for individuals receiving specialty oncology therapies. The pharmacist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and cost‑conscious medication use throughout the cancer treatment journey.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare providers, addressing prescription changes, medication concerns, and clinical needs.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medication reconciliation, therapy monitoring, and counseling on drug administration and side‑effects.
• Support medication access, adherence management, and ongoing therapy optimization in an ambulatory oncology setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with a Pharm.D. or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to patient‑centered care in oncology.
• Hospital pharmacy experience of six months or more preferred.
• Excellent accuracy, communication, and teamwork skills.
