Pharmacist – Outpatient Pharmacy

About the role

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our outpatient pharmacy team. The role involves preparing and dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, and supervising support staff in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Compound and dispense medications according to physician, dentist or authorized practitioner orders.
• Provide medication counseling and pharmaceutical care to patients and staff.
• Supervise and verify the work of pharmacy support personnel.
• Maintain compliance with state pharmacy laws, drug incompatibility and interaction guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments to support the medical centre’s mission.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Active pharmacy license in Arkansas (or reciprocity).
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Ability to perform detailed visual, auditory and olfactory assessments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 lb and perform frequent standing, walking and bending.

Required skills

• Pharmaceutical compounding and dispensing techniques.
• Knowledge of drug incompatibilities, interactions, pharmacology and toxicology.
• Understanding of pharmacy law and regulatory requirements.
