Pharmacist I/II – Full‑Time Position

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Health Benton/Bryant is seeking a full‑time Pharmacist I or II to join its pharmacy team. This position supports patient care by ensuring safe, accurate medication dispensing and providing clinical pharmacy services within a collaborative health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify physician orders, dispense prescription medications, and ensure accuracy of dosage and labeling.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care professionals to optimize medication therapy.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, manage controlled substances, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Document medication therapy interventions and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current, active license to practice pharmacy in Arkansas.
• Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D. or equivalent) from an accredited program.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Commitment to full‑time, on‑site work at the Benton/Bryant campus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and electronic health records.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, medication safety, and drug information resources.
• Ability to perform accurate medication calculations and compounding as needed.
