Pharmacist – Hematology/Oncology (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full-time Pharmacist specialized in Hematology and Oncology to join the UHealth Hollywood pharmacy team. The role involves compounding, dispensing, and managing medication therapies for cancer patients in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate calculations, weighing, and measuring of ingredients.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, assess drug identity, strength, purity, and suitability.
• Provide drug information on interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage to healthcare providers and patients.
• Log data into pharmacy databases, perform drug utilization reviews, and monitor prescription trends.
• Maintain records including patient profiles, inventory, controlled substance logs, and regulatory registries.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets and ensuring proper disposal of pharmaceuticals.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current, active pharmacist licensure in good standing in the State of Florida.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience, preferably in oncology or hematology.
