Personnel Security (PERSEC) Analyst

About the role

Watermark is seeking a Personnel Security (PERSEC) Analyst to join a federal agency team that supports personnel security programs. In this position you will evaluate, investigate, and adjudicate individuals who require access to federal employment, national security information, or sensitive positions.

Key responsibilities

• Process personnel vetting documents for investigations, adjudications, and continuous vetting alerts in line with federal guidelines.
• Assess an individual’s character and history to determine risk to national security, applying adjudicative guidelines across security, suitability, fitness, and credentialing domains.
• Prepare comprehensive written reports with recommendations for granting, denying, or revoking eligibility.
• Analyze security files and source documents for authenticity, relevance, and potential risks.
• Utilize personnel vetting systems such as e‑QIP/NBIS, DCSA CVS/PIPS, DISS, DHS ISMS, and related platforms to manage casework.
• Develop and maintain briefing slides, process guides, reports, and manuals using Microsoft Office applications.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, providing customer service while handling sensitive information.
• Refer cases to government sponsors for final action and coordinate follow‑up.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience providing personnel vetting support to a federal government department or agency.
• Experience processing PV documents for investigations, adjudications, or continuous vetting alerts.
• Demonstrated ability to apply adjudication guidelines across security, suitability, fitness, or credentialing domains.
