Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist – Vascular Lab

About the role

This part‑time, per‑diem position supports the Vascular Lab at the University of Miami Hospital. The technologist coordinates patient flow, performs diagnostic ultrasound studies, and assists with research and education initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental vascular procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging studies under the supervision of a Clinical Vascular Lab Attending or Fellow.
• Assist in education and training of new physicians, technologists, and student technologists.
• Develop and demonstrate new ultrasound protocols and techniques.
• Charge procedures and supplies, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide on‑call rotational coverage and act as a team leader during routine operations.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular program.
• Vascular Ultrasound Certification (RVT or RVS) and minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, contrast administration, and radiation safety procedures.
• Experience using PACS, UChart/Radiant, and Microsoft Office applications.
