Per Diem Staff Physician – Pediatrics (Cardiology)

About the role

The University of Miami Medical Group is looking for a Per Diem Staff Physician with expertise in Pediatric Cardiology. The physician will provide high‑quality medical care to pediatric patients on a per‑diem basis, receiving assignments that match their specialty and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of patient care.
• Perform thorough physical assessments in a respectful and logical manner.
• Prescribe appropriate medical treatments and clinical drugs.
• Gather essential information through review of records and interviews with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Report to the responsible physician, adhere to policy co‑signatures, and document all quality‑assurance incidents.
• Identify and report hazardous conditions, equipment malfunctions, or supply issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to keep knowledge current.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree in a relevant field.
• Board certification or appropriate licensing in the relevant specialty.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage workload under pressure, and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
