Per Diem Staff Physician – Pediatric Neurology (EEG)

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a board‑certified or board‑eligible Per‑Diem Staff Physician to provide expert EEG interpretation for newborns and children up to two years old. This position supports the Pediatric Neurology division and delivers high‑quality neurodiagnostic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret routine, ambulatory, and continuous inpatient EEGs (including vEEGs) for pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Generate timely, accurate EEG reports that meet institutional and clinical standards.
• Collaborate with pediatric neurologists, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary teams to guide diagnostic and treatment decisions.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and interdisciplinary reviews as needed.
• Document findings thoroughly in the electronic medical record system.
• Adhere to hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality guidelines.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in Neurology with a Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
• Valid Florida medical license.
• Experience interpreting pediatric and neonatal EEGs is strongly preferred.
• Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy is preferred.
