Per Diem Staff Physician – Endocrinology (Medicine)

About the role

The University of Miami Medical Group is seeking a Per Diem Staff Physician specialized in Endocrinology. This position provides comprehensive medical care to patients, integrating biological, psychological, and sociocultural considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans addressing multiple health domains.
• Perform respectful, logical physical assessments of patients.
• Prescribe appropriate medical treatments and clinical drugs.
• Gather accurate patient information through record review and interviews with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Report to the responsible physician and adhere to policy co‑signatures.
• Notify appropriate personnel of hazardous conditions, equipment issues, or supply deficiencies.
• Document all Quality Assurance incidents, including medication errors, following department guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and expertise.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience.
• Applicable board certification and state medical licensure.
• Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, and strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
