Per-Diem Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinics

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a Per‑Diem Registered Nurse to work in its outpatient clinics in Miami, FL. This part‑time, temporary position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on physician orders and patient responses.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and perform required patient tests.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Active Florida RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
