Per Diem Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

About the role

Adventist Health in Portland is seeking a per diem Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients with special needs or those at nutritional risk.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Document interventions, monitor patient response, and adjust therapy as needed.
• Supervise and orient new staff and dietetic interns.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition (Master's required for eligibility after 1/1/24).
• Completion of a dietetic internship or equivalent.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential within 6 months of residency completion.
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) required by facility.

Required skills

• Clinical nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy.
• Patient and family education on nutrition.
• Interdisciplinary communication and documentation.
