Per-Diem Pharmacy Technician – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center

About the role

The Department of Pharmacy at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Hollywood is seeking a Per‑Diem Pharmacy Technician. You will work under a pharmacist’s supervision to compound, dispense, and manage medication inventories while providing essential clerical support.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, count, measure, and mix medication according to prescriptions.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, receive supplies, and ensure proper stocking.
• Process written prescriptions, fill refills, and verify accuracy.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist customers.
• Label medication bottles and manage patient profiles.
• Transfer medication using aseptic techniques and operate robotic dispensing machines.
• Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms.
• Follow university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
• Valid Florida Pharmacy Technician license.
• Ability to work under pharmacist supervision and follow safety protocols.
