About the role

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in a fast‑paced oncology environment. This part‑time, temporary role involves direct medication preparation, inventory management, and patient interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, count, measure, and mix medications accurately.
• Handle inventory to ensure the pharmacy is properly stocked.
• Receive written prescriptions, fill them or process refill requests, and verify completeness.
• Answer telephone inquiries and respond to simple customer questions.
• Fill medication bottles, label them, and maintain patient profiles and records.
• Transfer medication from vials to sterile syringes using aseptic techniques.
• Operate and monitor robotic dispensing machines.
• Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Florida Pharmacy Technician license.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.

Required skills

• Aseptic technique for medication preparation.
