Per-Diem Pharmacist – Kendall, FL

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Per-Diem (PRN) Pharmacist to join its Kendall pharmacy team. This position involves compounding and dispensing medications, handling prescription inquiries, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by doctors and dentists, accurately calculating dosages and measuring ingredients.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, assess ingredient needs, and evaluate suitability.
• Provide drug information, including interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage guidance.
• Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage.
• Maintain pharmacy records, inventory logs, and controlled substance registries.
• Assist customers with medication brand selection, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets and ensuring proper disposal of pharmaceuticals.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacist license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
