About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide high‑quality imaging services in the UTower Hospital Nuclear Medicine Department. This flexible, on‑call position supports patient care across days, evenings, weekends, and rotational coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient identity, obtain consents, and assess comfort and pain levels before, during, and after exams.
• Maintain and decontaminate all imaging equipment according to safety protocols.
• Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper supplies and radiopharmaceuticals are used.
• Check radiopharmaceutical labels, assay doses with a dose calibrator, and record activity accurately.
• Select optimal imaging instruments, adjust camera settings, and position patients to obtain diagnostic views.
• Assist patients onto and off imaging tables using proper body mechanics.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic patient records while preserving confidentiality.
• Follow organization‑wide safety, security, infection control, and radiation protection standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Valid State of Florida General Radiographer or Basic X‑Ray Machine Operator license.
• Current certification in Nuclear Medicine (e.g., ARRT).
