People Lead

About the role

We are seeking a People Lead to build and scale the People function at Sesame, an AI‑driven computer company in San Francisco. This hands‑on leadership role partners with the executive team to design and execute HR strategy while preserving the company’s high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the People strategy, operating model, and infrastructure to support rapid growth.
• Lead a high‑performing People team and oversee HR systems, payroll, benefits, immigration, onboarding, policies, compliance, and employee relations.
• Partner with Recruiting and business leaders on workforce planning and employee experience.
• Advise the leadership team on organization design, succession planning, and critical structural decisions.
• Develop frameworks for goal‑setting, feedback, performance management, development, promotions, and accountability.
• Own compensation philosophy, salary ranges, equity practices, benefits, and performance check‑ins.
• Translate company values into everyday practices, shaping and protecting the culture.
• Provide trusted, data‑driven counsel on sensitive people and organizational matters.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive People leadership experience, including People Operations and HR Business Partner responsibilities.
• Proven ability to scale HR functions in high‑growth technology environments.
