PCU Cardiac RN

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse for its PCU Cardiac unit. The nurse provides critical care to cardiac patients, develops individualized care plans, supervises nursing staff and responds promptly to life-threatening situations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses to adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Document care in the electronic medical record and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
• Ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation standards and organizational policies
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives and supervise and mentor nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control policies and respond to emergencies with critical care skills

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
• Previous experience in a specialty area preferred
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state

Required skills

• Critical care nursing knowledge and clinical skills, including EKG interpretation (requirements depend on patient population)
• Proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking and a professional bedside manner
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs
• Preferred: Cerner EMR, EPIC, Basic EKG certification, FCCS, BLS, AWHONN, CCNS, CEN, NRP-A, TNCC, S.T.A.B.L.E., Trauma Nurse course
