Payroll Tax Analyst – U.S. Payroll Compliance

About the role

The Payroll Tax Analyst is a key member of the Payroll team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll tax compliance across U.S. jurisdictions. You will work closely with Payroll, HR, Accounting, and external vendors to manage tax filings, payments, and related reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll tax setup and maintenance across systems and vendors, including new jurisdiction registrations and GL mapping.
• Review and validate vendor‑prepared tax filings and payments (Forms 941, W‑2, 940) for federal, state, and local taxes.
• Reconcile payroll tax balances, support GL reconciliations for U.S. and international accounts, and respond to employee tax inquiries.
• Partner with Benefits, Global Mobility, and HR Operations on deductions, expatriate tax requirements, and employee data discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits, prepare reports for stakeholders and government agencies, and monitor regulatory changes.
• Serve as primary contact for the payroll tax vendor OneSource Virtual, handling day‑to‑day cases and escalations.
• Research and respond to tax agency notices, coordinate tax rate updates, and assist with unemployment tax calculations.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of multi‑state payroll experience with strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax laws.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
