Payment Posting Representative – Healthcare Revenue Cycle

About the role

USPI is seeking a detail‑oriented Payment Posting Representative to join its revenue‑cycle team at Texas Spine and Joint Hospital in Tyler, Texas. The role focuses on accurately posting both electronic and manual payments into the patient accounting system, ensuring timely reconciliation and supporting clinical staff to concentrate on patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Post electronic and manual payments accurately into the patient accounting system.
• Research and resolve unidentified accounts using established processes.
• Interpret remittance advice, manage overpayment recoveries, and forward balances as appropriate.
• Reconcile bank deposits, payment transfers, refunds, and special accounts.
• Run system queries to monitor payment postings and address discrepancies.
• Communicate with insurance companies and internal teams to obtain missing information.
• Process payment corrections, inter‑facility transfers, capitation payments, and payroll deductions.
• Open and manage tickets with business partners to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Participate in special projects and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 2–3 years of related experience, preferably in payment posting or hospital patient accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with patient accounting systems.
• Knowledge of electronic remittance advice (ERA) processes.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing software.
