Patient Transporter – Vascular Lab (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital’s Vascular Lab is seeking a full‑time Patient Transporter to move patients safely between units, labs and imaging areas. This entry‑level position supports clinical staff by handling medical records, specimens and equipment while ensuring timely, compliant transport.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve and deliver medical records, laboratory results, supplies and medications to the appropriate locations.
• Notify nursing staff when a patient leaves or returns to a unit and keep the patient’s chart with the patient during transport.
• Complete all transports within assigned time parameters and document check‑in/check‑out in the transport system.
• Collect and safely deliver specimens and blood products to the designated department.
• Inspect oxygen cylinders before use to confirm full pressure and safe condition.
• Restock supplies in assigned areas and clean/disinfect reusable patient‑care equipment.
• Follow University and unit policies, safeguarding assets and adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience).
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and basic computer applications.
