Patient Transporter

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Patient Transporter to move patients safely between units and support clinical operations while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer patients to and from various areas of the facility, ensuring timely completion.
• Retrieve medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as needed.
• Notify nursing staff when patients leave and return to their units.
• Maintain patient charts alongside patients during transport.
• Collect and deliver specimens and blood products to the appropriate departments.
• Inspect oxygen cylinders before transport to confirm they are full and safe.
• Check patients in and out of the transport system accurately.
• Restock supplies and clean/disinfect reusable equipment.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and comply with all safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Commitment to confidentiality and university core values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computer software.
