Patient Transporter – Full‑time at UHealth

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Patient Transporter to move patients safely between units and support clinical operations. You will provide courteous service while ensuring compliance with all hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from various areas of the facility, keeping charts and documentation with the patient.
• Retrieve medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as needed.
• Notify nursing staff before patient departure and upon return.
• Collect and deliver specimens and blood products to the appropriate departments.
• Inspect oxygen cylinders before transport to confirm full and safe condition.
• Maintain accurate check‑in/out of the patient transport system.
• Restock supplies, clean and disinfect reusable equipment.
• Adhere to all university and unit‑level policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to follow procedures and provide excellent customer service.
