Patient Services Associate – Pre‑op/PACU

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Patient Services Associate to work in the pre‑operative (Pre‑op) and Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) areas. This position supports the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care by assisting with patient preparation, monitoring, and transition through the surgical process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient services in the Pre‑op and PACU settings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Assist with patient intake, documentation, and coordination of care between surgical teams.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in accordance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Eligibility to be classified as Clinical Staff – Nursing within the university system.
