Patient Registration Representative - Onsite

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Representative (Patient Registration Representative) for Ascension St Vincent's Clay County in Middleburg, Florida. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. The role is onsite, with two shifts: Monday to Friday 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Wednesdays 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Thursday to Saturday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. No healthcare background is needed, as training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and quickly gather accurate patient information in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize registration delays and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Customer service experience, communication and interpersonal skills, and composure in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and shift priorities according to patient needs
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
