Patient Registration Representative - Onsite

About the role

R1, a provider of revenue cycle technology, is hiring an onsite Patient Registration Representative at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, Florida. The role is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. It is a frontline healthcare customer service position, with shifts Sunday to Tuesday 10:00 AM-10:00 PM and Wednesday 10:00 AM-4:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration so that access to care stays on time, and answer questions with confidence and compassion
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Comfortable shifting priorities based on patient needs
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus (not required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements

• Base pay of $16.00-$21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
