Patient Registration - Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of revenue cycle technology for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a Customer Service Representative for its Patient Registration team at Ascension Via Christi Mercy Regional Health Center in Wamego. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration with speed and compassion. The shift is PRN, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 on call, and additional shifts available.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (training provided)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
