About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join its health team at the Benton/Bryant campus. This full‑time, on‑site position supports clinical staff by providing direct patient care and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for patients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with basic patient care tasks, including vital signs, mobility assistance, and hygiene.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring proper positioning and comfort.
• Maintain clean and organized patient care areas, adhering to infection‑control standards.
• Document patient observations accurately in the electronic health record.
• Transport patients safely between departments and support emergency response as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Patient Care Technician or related credential preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills
