Patient Access Supervisor

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Supervisor for Intermountain Layton Hospital in Layton, Utah. The role leads a team responsible for registration and access, one of the most critical parts of the patient's journey. It is a hands-on leadership position combining team management, operational oversight and strategy to improve patient experience and revenue cycle performance. Hours are 12PM to 8PM Monday to Friday, with rotating on-call weekends every four weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Patient Access Supervisors, Administrative Coordinators and Patient Access Associates, providing coaching, performance feedback and development support
• Oversee daily Patient Access operations across registration and admissions, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate data collection and proper bed utilization
• Evaluate workflows and identify opportunities to improve performance
• Ensure adherence to federal, state and hospital regulations, and oversee billing audit processes and accuracy of patient data
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and implement best practices
• Manage and monitor departmental budgets and support HR-related activities such as staffing and performance management
• Represent Patient Access in leadership meetings and cross-functional initiatives

Required profile

• High school diploma
• Experience working with patients in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
• Preferred: 3+ years of leadership experience in healthcare, strong understanding of Patient Access / Revenue Cycle operations, and experience leading process improvement initiatives

What we offer

• Base pay range of $55,000 to $72,717.75 per year, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan at a target of 5%
