Patient Access Specialist – On Site

About the role

The Patient Access Specialist (On‑Site) supports front‑end revenue cycle and clinic functions for hospital and clinic operations, directly impacting the patient experience. The role serves as a functional expert for peers and ensures team adherence to policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to obtain missing insurance information and verify eligibility.
• Obtain authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals as required.
• Notify patients of liabilities prior to service dates and collect funds.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Serve as a lead resource for lower‑level Patient Access Representatives and recommend performance improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in patient access, revenue cycle, or related field.
