Patient Access Representative (Part‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a part‑time Patient Access Representative to join the front‑line team at the UHealth Tower. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and smooth appointment scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, verify insurance benefits, and collect payments.
• Obtain and record copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA forms and obtain patient signatures.
• Guide patients through required questionnaires and schedule, cancel, or edit appointments.
• Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as appropriate.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and follow unit‑level procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in patient registration, insurance verification, or a similar healthcare support role.
