Patient Access Representative (Level 1) – Doral

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 1 to register patients for clinical services, verify insurance benefits and collect payments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, ensuring accurate personal and insurance information.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver’s license and any required referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability and HIPAA notices and obtain signed forms.
• Guide patients to complete any physician‑required questionnaires.
• Schedule, cancel, edit appointments and accurately record no‑show patients.
• Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information or transfer calls as appropriate.
• Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets and confidential information.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in patient registration or a similar front‑desk role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to enter data with minimal errors.
• Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.

Required skills

• Data entry proficiency.
• General knowledge of office procedures.
