Patient Access Representative – Full‑time (Doral, FL)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative to join its expanding ambulatory services hub. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and compliance with consent and privacy policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration and verify insurance information.
• Collect and scan insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and referral documents.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA notices and obtain signed acknowledgments.
• Guide patients through required questionnaires and schedule, modify, or cancel appointments.
• Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the appropriate department.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as needed.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and maintain confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in a medical office or patient access setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
