Patient Access Representative – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients for clinical services, verify insurance benefits, and collect payments. This on‑site, full‑time position ensures accurate patient information and a smooth check‑in experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, obtain insurance cards, driver’s license, and referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA notices and obtain signed forms.
• Schedule, cancel, and edit appointments; record no‑shows accurately.
• Answer high‑volume calls, triage inquiries, and provide clear information.
• Reconcile vouchers, process cash, and complete end‑of‑day cash‑drawer reconciliation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in patient registration or front‑end revenue cycle.
• Strong attention to detail, data‑entry accuracy, and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
