Patient Access Representative (Full Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the front‑line team at the UHealth Tower. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and smooth financial processing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, verify insurance benefits, and collect payments.
• Obtain and scan copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA notices, and secure signed forms.
• Guide patients through required questionnaires and schedule follow‑up appointments.
• Update, cancel, or edit appointments and accurately record no‑show information.
• Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as appropriate.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and maintain confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in patient registration, medical front‑desk, or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑service orientation.
