Patient Access Representative – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the front‑line team at the UHealth Tower. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, insurance verification, and payment collection.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, verify insurance benefits, and collect payments.
• Obtain and file copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA notices and secure signed forms.
• Guide patients through required questionnaires and schedule, modify, or cancel appointments.
• Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as needed.
• Follow university and unit policies to protect assets and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in patient registration, insurance verification, or a similar healthcare support role.
