Patient Access Representative – Evening & Weekend Shifts

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full-time Patient Access Representative to work evening and weekend shifts at its Lennar location. In this role you will register patients for clinical services, verify insurance, and collect payments while providing courteous front-desk support.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients for clinical services, obtain insurance cards, driver’s license, and referrals.
• Verify insurance benefits and explain consent, financial liability, and HIPAA forms.
• Collect payments, reconcile vouchers, and deliver them to the designated area.
• Schedule, cancel, edit appointments and accurately record no-show patients.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information or transfer calls as needed.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and work evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in patient registration or similar office setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Data entry with minimal errors.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
