Patient Access Representative 3 (On‑Site)

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth department is seeking a Patient Access Representative 3 to manage registration and financial clearance for scheduled patients. This on‑site position ensures smooth patient flow and accurate reimbursement processing while serving as a functional expert for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Notify patients of financial liabilities before service and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records in the system of record and adhere to university policies.
• Serve as lead resource, provide supervisory coverage, and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate patient flow using multiple systems (EPIC MyChart, Grand Central ADT, Cadence, Prelude, Radiant, OP Time, Care Everywhere, Resolute, Nice inContact, Aria Oncology).
• Assist patients with self‑serve technology such as MyChart and check‑in kiosks.

Required profile

• Experience in patient registration, financial clearance, or medical front‑desk operations.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and eligibility processes.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
• Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Capability to provide supervisory coverage when needed.
