Patient Access Representative 3 – Full‑time Onsite

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 3 to join its Clinical Access team at the Lennar location. In this onsite position you will manage registration and financial clearance activities that enable timely reimbursement for services.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical data for patient accounts.
• Contact patients, families, or physicians to gather missing insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to add‑on patients and secure authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of financial liabilities before service dates and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Serve as a lead resource for lower‑level Patient Access Representatives and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in patient access, registration, or related financial functions.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process confidential information discreetly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Any relevant education, certifications, or additional experience may be considered.
