Patient Access Representative 3 (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Patient Access Representative 3 works on‑site at UHealth Tower to manage registration and financial clearance for patient accounts, ensuring timely reimbursement for services rendered. This full‑time position supports patients, families, and clinical teams by verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, and communicating financial responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical data for scheduled patients.
• Contact families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to add‑on patients and secure necessary authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of liabilities before service dates and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Serve as a lead resource for lower‑level Patient Access Representatives.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance performance and productivity.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in patient access, registration, or medical billing.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process confidential information discreetly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
