Patient Access Representative 2 – Onsite

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Patient Access Representative 2 to join the UHealth Tower team. In this onsite position you will be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, insurance verification, and payment collection for clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Contact families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add‑on patients.
• Secure authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals as required.
• Inform patients of financial liabilities and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Follow university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in a medical or administrative setting.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete assignments accurately.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
