Patient Access Representative 2 – Doral

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 2 to join its new downtown Doral facility. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, insurance verification, and payment collection.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients or referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to add‑on patients and secure necessary authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of financial liabilities and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Follow university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a medical or office setting.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete assignments accurately.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
