Patient Access Manager

About the role

Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Patient Access Manager to lead registration, admissions and front-end patient access operations. This is an on-site leadership role where you will lead a team of Patient Access professionals, partner with hospital leadership and drive initiatives that improve patient flow, registration accuracy, service excellence and revenue cycle performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Patient Access operations, including registration, admissions and patient intake, ensuring efficient patient flow and good customer service
• Monitor department productivity, quality and performance metrics and identify workflow improvements
• Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team, including supervisors, coordinators and front-line staff, and run performance management and coaching
• Ensure accurate patient registration and demographic capture, and support front-end revenue cycle performance
• Maintain department policies and procedures and ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory and payer requirements
• Collaborate with clinical, operational and revenue cycle leaders, take part in hospital committees and lead projects that improve operations and patient experience

Required profile

• 5+ years of healthcare operations experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Experience leading Patient Access, Registration, Admissions, Financial Clearance or related Revenue Cycle teams
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in acute care hospital environments preferred

• Strong understanding of patient registration workflows and healthcare operations
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes and performance metrics
• Experience implementing workflow improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills

What we offer

• Base pay range of $65,099.03 - $81,373.79 per year, depending on role, level, location and experience
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan at a target of 10%
