Part‑time Research Associate – Public Health

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Health seeks a part‑time Research Associate 1 to support laboratory and qualitative research projects. The role blends hands‑on experimental work with stakeholder interview coordination and data analysis, contributing to the advancement of pandemic prevention research.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments, operate equipment, and perform routine assays on specimens or tissue cultures.
• Coordinate and conduct qualitative interviews with regional stakeholders, handling scheduling, invitations, transcription, and IRB compliance.
• Support thematic analysis of interview data, including codebook development, coding, and data saturation assessment.
• Assist with the second phase of the BRIDGE Study scoping review: article screening, full‑text review, and systematic data extraction.
• Draft and edit peer‑reviewed manuscripts, policy briefs, and blog posts for academic and non‑academic audiences.
• Prepare materials for conferences, virtual stakeholder panels, and quarterly progress reports for the AHF Global Public Health Institute.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, biology, social sciences).
