About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a reliable Part‑Time Forklift Operator to join its Meriden, CT service center. You will work on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock moving freight safely in and out of trailers.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to load and unload freight from trailers up to 53 feet long.
- Move various types of freight safely and efficiently.
- Read and follow manifests and interact with computer displays to verify shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on the dock.
Required profile
- Ability to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty.
- Dependable, able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prior forklift experience, preferably in a high‑volume setting.
- Basic reading skills for manifests and computer screens.
