Part‑Time Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist (Level 3)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Part‑time Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist (Level 3) to perform and supervise diagnostic cardiac imaging studies. The role involves coordinating patient flow, supporting clinical staff, and contributing to research and protocol development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental cardiac procedures.
• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies under the supervision of a Clinical Cardiac Attending or Fellow.
• Assist in training new physicians, technologists, and student technologists.
• Develop and implement new ultrasound protocols and imaging techniques.
• Monitor charging, maintain accurate records, and transmit images to PACS.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular program.
• ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS credential.
• Preferred 5 years of hospital ultrasound experience (candidates with less experience will be considered).
• Flexible work schedule: 20 hours/week, days, nights, weekends, on‑call as needed.

Required skills

• Operation of cardiac ultrasound equipment, including 2‑D, power, and spectral Doppler modalities.
• Contrast administration and IV insertion proficiency.
• Image acquisition, quality assessment, and transmission to PACS.
• Use of UChart/Radiant for charging and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
