Part-Time Senior Services Transportation Driver

About the role

The Town of Windsor is looking for a part‑time Transportation Driver to provide safe, reliable travel for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. You will operate a wheelchair‑accessible minibus, transporting passengers to medical appointments, senior center activities, shopping trips and community events.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a wheelchair‑equipped minibus to pick up and drop off clients at scheduled locations.
• Confirm passenger pick‑up times and plan efficient routes.
• Assist seniors and disabled adults on and off the vehicle, including handling packages as needed.
• Deliver courteous, customer‑focused service and ensure a positive travel experience.
• Complete daily vehicle inspection sheets and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Valid Connecticut Public Service License or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical, background check and drug screening.
• Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and effective oral and written communication.

What we offer

• Part‑time schedule up to 19 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends.
• Hourly wage of $18.50.
