Part-Time Security Officer - Patrol Driver

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, offers a part-time Security Officer Enhanced position in Flat Rock, Michigan. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to pick up extra shifts through a claim-a-shift program. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

The position is based on a fixed shift commitment (an anchor shift) at a designated site, requiring a six-month commitment. Candidates can also earn more by taking additional shifts, and the schedule allows building up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and vendors at a technology, media and telecommunications location, following site procedures and emergency response protocols when appropriate.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials and observing visitor activity, and report unusual conditions.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alarms, document observations and notify the right people.
• Maintain activity logs and incident reports and communicate professionally with site personnel and leadership.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy (required for driving positions).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Preferred: access control and badge experience, computer or tablet use, CPR and first aid certification, and customer service experience.
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment; licensing may be required depending on state or local law.
