Part-Time Radiology Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time Radiology Technologist in Orlando, Florida, working day shifts on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to 10:30pm. The role covers performing radiographic imaging procedures, assisting patients and maintaining equipment and exam rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Perform radiographic imaging procedures, positioning patients and equipment and selecting technical factors to obtain high-quality images safely and in a timely manner
• Assist patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety and privacy
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, and ensure equipment is cleaned and checked regularly
• Notify staff when inventory is low and cross-train into advanced modalities as needed
• Follow radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 1+ year of experience, preferably in radiology or as a new graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• Previous radiologic technologist experience preferred
• One year of post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
• Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT) license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, including surgery and trauma
• Ability to use radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and to determine appropriate technical factors
• Knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operation
• Ability to learn and use radiology software such as Cerner, Radnet and PACS
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry
• Adult, infant, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patient care skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
