Part-Time Public Health Clinical Nursing Faculty

About the role

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking a part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty member to teach with its BSN Nursing program. The role involves mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical setting in the Virginia Beach, VA area, linking classroom learning and simulation to real-world patient care. The schedule depends on course need and clinical specialty for each 8-week session, typically 2-3 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks, and clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching.
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students providing care to individuals or groups.
• Provide documented feedback to students and offer remediation as needed.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments and return homework, quizzes, tests and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
• Contribute to program development and evaluation, and may teach didactic content under the course coordinator's supervision.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean, and handle other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• An unencumbered professional RN license in Virginia; an Illinois RN license is required to teach all courses.
• Active BLS certification (AHA, American Red Cross or Military Training Network).
• At least two years of recent professional experience as a registered nurse.
• No teaching experience is required; nurses with solid clinical experience and a completed MSN are encouraged to apply.

Pay ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment.
