Part-Time Patient Scheduler (UHealth)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a part‑time Patient Scheduler to provide exceptional customer service, coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic appointments, and ensure smooth communication between patients, physicians, and radiology staff.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule complex exams and procedures across multiple modalities using scheduling software.
• Answer inbound calls and contact patients to confirm appointment times and provide preparation instructions.
• Obtain and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy.
• Review prior imaging reports and orders to maintain compliance with medical protocols.
• Coordinate with physicians, radiologists, technologists, and labs for special procedures, pre‑medication, or implant information.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to university policies and asset safeguards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant scheduling or customer‑service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high call volumes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while handling confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with scheduling software and multiple computer applications.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and imaging scheduling protocols.
